Queen Elizabeth

CIMG3706.JPG
We had some special guests in our class this week. The good people at 'time bandits' came to tell us all about our lovely Queen.
We are going to be learning a little bit more about her over the next two weeks, but found out some interesting facts from our visitors.
After our talk they made us some coronation chicken for us to try. Something that was invented for our Queen when she became our head of state.

Help Nurse...our teddy is sick!!

CIMG3768.JPG
As part of our 'people who help us' theme we have been learning all about doctors and nurses this week as well as paramedics!!
We have a doctor surgury in our role play area now and we have all brought in our poorly teddies to see is Nurse Nevins and Nurse Redhead could make them better.
Nurses Nevins and Redhead had lots of injuries to take care of, broken bones, poorly heads and upset tummies.
We also used a real stethoscope to listen to our hearts beating. It was amazing to hear what they really sound like. We had so much fun, and can't wait to play again next week.

Picnic in the sun

CIMG3183.JPG
Taking advantage of the lovely weather this week. We went outside to play picnics. We set out a blanket and made 'food' to eat. The dandilion tea was particulary delicious.

Well done Year 6!

Year 6 have worked incredibly hard this week, doing their SATs. Mrs Pigott, Mrs Jones and Mrs McKeown have been highly impressed by how sensible, and hardworking the whole class has been this week.

No matter what the results, we are very proud of every single one of you!

Outdoor learning

CIMG3620.JPG We have noticed the big yellow ball in the sky these last few days.....yes the sunshine has made another rare appearence! So we have covered ourselves with suncream and headed outside for some learning outdoors.
We have been looking at how much water different sized bottles hold....it's lots of fun splashing in the sun!
Also we have been practicing our letter and number formation as well as our pencil control but sometimes we have just chilled with a good book and read in the warmth. We are really hoping to have lots of sunshine over the next half term so we can have even more learning in our lovely little courtyard.
