Year 5 had a great day working with an African artist performing Gumboot dancing and drumming.
As part of a project with The Linking Network, Year 5 have been working with the children at Oakfield Junior School. They have visited The Shipley Art Gallery and worked with their link partners to produce joint pieces of art work to be displayed in both schools. Oakfield Year 5 children then visited Roman Road to work with their partners here in a fun filled day of African Arts. We worked with an artist to practise and perform some gumboot dancing and drumming workshops. They also made African mask designs to display in school. We will be visiting Oakfield Junior School soon to continue our link project.
