« Telling the Time | Main | What have Year 5 been getting up to? »
There was a special visitor in the KS2 assembly today. Big Eyed Ben came to tell all of the children that he had his eye on them.
The children in Year 5 have been carrying out an energy survey for the last few weeks. They have been checking whether lights and computer screens have been left on in the classrooms when they were not needed.
Following our survey, we decided that we needed to find a way to remind people to "switch off". In business teams we came up with advertising slogans and characters to promote our campaign. Each group pitched their idea to the rest of the class, and we voted for Big - Eyed Ben as our favourite character with his catchy slogan, "I've got my eye on you!".
Ben is going to keep a lookout around school, and every time he finds a light left on he is going to leave his special calling card, to let you know that you have been wasting electricity. We have also designed some labels to put near the light switches to serve as an extra reminder.
So remember Ben has got his (enormous) eye on you!
