As part of the England theme the children in Mrs Dykes class visited Prudhoe Castle.

Before the visit we had been learning about the features of a castle. At Prudhoe castle we saw the battlements, the arrow slits, where the drawbridge would have been, the Keep and the Great Hall.

We looked at a large book about how and why Prudhoe Castle was built.

We constucted a castle using building blocks following numbers on the blocks.

We enjoyed our day and consolidated our knowledge about castles.
