Year 3 CIRCUS SPECTACULAR!

circus.jpg
Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope you have had a fantastic Summer break and welcome back to a new Autumn Term in
Year 3. Your children are now in the Juniors (Key Stage 2) and I’m sure they will rise to every challenge. They are a fantastic class who work well together. This term is all about the circus and below you will find some of the things your children will be learning. The children had an introduction to the circus during last year’s Book Week, but now we are unpacking the theme further to include an Ancient Roman flavour. Before Christmas, your child will be performing a panto with Year 4 children which I’m sure will be brilliant. I’m also looking forward to seeing you again at Parents/Carers Evening (dates to be confirmed for this).

Dates and information…Don’t forget!
Reading Books – Changed once or twice weekly depending upon level of book. Days may vary so please ensure books are returned EVERY DAY. A variety of staff need to record in the diaries during Read Write Inc sessions so it is very important we have them in school. One frogget will be given to your child each time they bring their book bag to school. Remember, fluent reading is the key to your child’s progress in every subject in Key Stage 2. Please record in the diary each time you hear your child read. Reading to your child is also very important - Make it fun and they will enjoy it!

Homework- This is more frequent in the Juniors and will be sent home on Friday to be returned the following Wednesday. Homework is often something to share so children may not be confident to do it all alone.

PE – Please send in kits and leave in school.

Uniform – I will send a full uniform list home in your welcome pack. PLEASE WRITE NAMES IN ALL CHILDREN’S CLOTHES.

I’m sure it will be a fantastic year! Any problems/concerns/questions, please come and see me after school. I’m usually available until 5.30pm, Tuesday to Friday.
Yours sincerely,
Miss E Allen.
