Reception have enjoyed learning about worms inspired by the ‘Yucky Worms’ story by Vivien French. We have learnt what worms like to eat and how they are good for loosening the soil so that plants can drink water more easily. The children were astonished to find out that worms have a brain and five pairs of hearts. We investigated worms by going on a worm hunt where we summoned lots of worms on the school field. We then made a wormery so that we could observe the worms in the classroom.
